SÄGEZAHN

A collective stutter in the cultural calendar.
Founded in 2016 in the belly of Schauspielhaus Wien, Sägezahn has spent the last decade morphing into a festival format that stubbornly refuses to stick to one room, one discipline, or one sensible schedule.
We bring together raw electronic soundscapes, physical performances, and structural installations that reconfigure the spaces they inhabit.
What we do:
We host soundscapes, contemporary dance, text experiments, concrete objects, and things we don’t have a word for yet. We build a temporary, fragile ecosystem where high-brow avant-garde and sub-cultural basement energy awkwardly bump into each other, realize they have a lot in common, and buy each other a drink.

What we don't do:
Predictable line-ups. Linear narratives. Red carpets.

Come for the noise, stay for the confusion.

yours sincerely,
